Terms & Conditions


  1. All entries to be uploaded to the award web site by Saturday 31st July 2010. Entries must be submitted via the web site.
  2. Entries may be submitted in English and/or Welsh.
  3. All entries must be submitted with a completed on-line entry form. Once uploaded entries cannot be amended.
  4. The organizers cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for the protection of right to their products/service.
  5. The organizers will not accept responsibility for entries which may be damaged, corrupted or lost during upload or otherwise. Applicants should keep a copy of their entry for reference.
  6. The decision of the judges is final in terms of any award made. The organizers will not be obliged to justify their decision or enter into any correspondence.
  7. Entrants and prospective entrants are welcome to contact the Canmol administrator to discuss any aspects of the competition.
  8. Canvassing or any other direct communication intended to influence the decision of a judge is forbidden.
  9. Any entrants for the awards must be prepared to receive media coverage and this should be accepted as a condition of entry. Cooperation with the organizers to arrange PR opportunities shall not be unreasonably withheld.
  10. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit a 100-word description of their entry with logo or other visual image, without delay, for publication in the Award programme. The organizers reserve the right to amend the copy provided if necessary. Shortlisted candidates will be required to cooperate with the organisers to arrange a short film clip for use at the Awards Ceremony.
  11. In the event of a tied decision, we reserve the right to invite shortlisted candidates to attend an interview with the judges or to provide further information as requested. The awards ceremony will take place in Cardiff on Thursday 7 October 2010.
  12. The organizers reserve the right not to confer awards if the standard of entry does not warrant it.
  13. All personal information submitted will be treated as confidential if so requested and will not, subject to point [9] above be disclosed without the permission of the applicant.
  14. The Institute, working through a Canmol sponsor, reserve the right to contact applicants to gain a better understanding of the needs of marketers in Wales.
  15. Sponsors may not enter the awards. However their clients may enter.
  16. Only one entry per company-site is allowed. Entries from separate divisions within the same organization or company are allowed. Agencies may enter work based on a client but only with the approval of the client. If multiple entries are submitted by an agency they should be in the name of the client. Only one entry in the name of the agency itself is allowed. Clients may enter work but must make it clear where work has been outsourced and seek the approval of their suppliers before entering.
  17. Entries are open to companies located in Wales. Where the entry originates from a company whose Head Office is located outside Wales, the marketing management must be located in Wales. Similarly entries are welcome from companies located within Wales which include aspects of the work outsourced to companies outside Wales as long as the project was managed from within Wales.
  18. At the discretion of the judges, one of the five winners may be chosen to represent Wales in The Chartered Institute of Marketing UK-wide Marketing Excellence Awards.
